Sea Farm is looking for sea farmers

Do you have a passion for the sea and would you like to help building Belgium’s first commercial sea farm? Then come on board the ‘Smart Farmer’ of GEOxyz.

For the installation and maintenance activities of the sea farm we are looking for enthusiastic employees. These activities take place in open sea, a few kilometers from the Belgian coast and are organized by our partner GEOxyz from Nieuwpoort or Ostend.

GEOxyz is a leading Belgian company specialized in offshore services such as Marine surveys and Offshore Renewable support activities and operates worldwide. They provide the expertise, people, equipment and technology needed to design, build and maintain structures and infrastructures at sea.

On board of the workboat “Smart Farmer” you are responsible for installing and managing mussel lines in the open sea. Together with the Colruyt Group project team, you will work on the realisation of an innovative project in the Belgian North Sea.

Smart Farmer



  • You are responsible for the vessel and lead the crew
  • You are responsible for planning the onboard activities.
  • You think along with the setup of the sea farm
  • You take care of reporting the activities to the project leader

Required certificates
Skipper: STCW A-II/2 or II/3


  • You will have a good basic knowledge of knots, mooring lines, etc.
  • You will assist with the installation, maintenance and harvesting of mussel lines
  • Experience with the operation of a deck crane is an added value
  • Experience with fishing activities is an advantage
  • You are not afraid of physical labour

Boatman: STCW A-II/4
